The best way to get involved with Tampa Bay DSA is by attending one of our monthly General Meetings. Our General Meetings are open to the public and feature announcements about upcoming events, report backs from our Working Groups and other chapter activity, and usually speakers from the community presenting on various topics that align with our goals as a chapter, so it’s a great way to see what we’re doing and how you can get involved. We operate as a grassroots, bottom-up, member-driven organization, so feel empowered to reach out to individual members if you’re interested in a particular campaign!
You can also get in touch with the Steering Committee by shooting us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or sending a message to our Facebook Page, and we’ll be more than happy to point you in the right direction!
Eventually, you’ll probably want to start paying dues and become an official DSA member. As a dues-paying member, you’ll be empowered to approve policies and guidelines for the operation of the chapter, elect delegates to the national convention, vote on matters related to national policy, make recommendations to DSA’s National Political Committee (NPC), and participate in our biannual elections of the chapter Officers.
